EA shoots down hopes of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 at EA Play Live

There won’t be any Star Wars games at EA’s showcase next week.

EA has come out and pre-emptively confirmed that it won’t be showing any new Star Wars games at its EA Play Live summer showcase, which takes place July 22.

That said, the publisher hinted that something Star Wars-related will be revealed next year. This means that the rumoured Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel won’t make an appearance at this year’s show. Assuming EA is aiming to launch the game in 2022, it could make sense to announce it very late this year, or early next year.

Indeed, now that Disney has established the Lucasfilm Games brand, Star Wars games are no longer exclusive to EA. So far, the label has announced a new open-world game from The Division dev Massive, and more projects from other teams are said to be in the works.

But we’ve yet to learn what Star Wars games EA has in the works, beyond the obvious sequel to one of its best-selling games in recent memory.
